As part of our primary goals to improve risk management in the financial services sector through enterprise risk management (ERM) education and training, we have recently undertaken a comprehensive initiative to develop a high level “ERM Roadmap” that will serve as the overarching framework for organizing all of our ongoing education and training activities.
The program comprises of 7 learning modules, this event will offer two of those seven modules.
Module 4 - Budgeting & Action
This module deals with the wide range of management actions that organizations can undertake in order to transform an inherent/gross risk into a more preferred residual/net risk position. These management actions can take many forms (such as share, insure, leverage, diversify, hedge, restructure, swap or null case of accept) and are generally undertaken in order to establish a residual risk profile that is better aligned with the financial institution’s risk appetite.
Module 6 - Reporting & Communication
Effective risk reporting and communication is critical to a well-functioning enterprise risk management function. In our model we emphasize the role of the key audiences across the firm, including the Board, Senior Management, Regulators, Rating Agencies and Shareholders, and ensuring the appropriate level of information is reaching them on a timely basis.
