A Roundtable discussion for industry leaders.Hosted by Global Risk Institute and taking place at Conrad Centennial in Singapore.GRI President & CEO, Richard Nesbitt, special guest speaker Alistair Croll, CEO of Solve for Interesting, will present an engaging round-table discussion for industry leaders regarding emerging risk and challenges in the financial services industry.

In this talk, author and entrepreneur Alistair Croll looks at the defensive moats of finance and risk industries, and how technology is bridging those moats, tearing down established barriers to entry with new business models. Using examples from startups, business, and history, he'll tackle some of the biggest challenges that financial industries are facing—and how behind those risks are huge potential rewards for the victors.

Richard Nesbitt
Richard is an Adjunct Professor at the Rotman School of Management of the University of Toronto and chair of the Advisory Board of the Mind Brain Behaviour Hive at the same University. Richard was COO, CIBC until his retirement in 2014 where he was responsible for the global operations of Wholesale Banking, Technology, and Operations; Strategy and Corporate Development; CIBC’s International Operations. From 2004 - 2008 Richard was Chief Executive Officer of TSX Group.

Dr. Thomas Coleman
Dr. Coleman is the Ophelia Lazaridis University Research Chair at the University of Waterloo and is the director of WatRISQ, an institute comprised of finance researchers spanning several faculties at the University of Waterloo. From 2005 to 2010, Dr. Coleman was the Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo. Prior to this role, he was a professor of computer science at Cornell University.
