The transition to a low-carbon economy demands significant investment. Yet market failures, particularly knowledge externalities, continue to hinder capital flows, as firms that bear the costs of mitigating industrial pollution do not internalize the social benefits. This paper explores how sustainable investing, through institutional strategies and investor coalitions, can incentivize decarbonization across real asset markets.
