Climate Smart Boards

Designed to support the evolution of corporate strategy in the era of climate change, the Climate Smart Boards Series helps board members build strategic climate fluency that is aligned with investor expectations, changing regulations and social demands.

We created the Board Risk Oversight Program exclusively for board members and senior stakeholders in the financial sector including central bankers, policymakers and regulators. With an alumni of over 100 GRI members having completed this program since its inception in 2014, it has grown to become a highly-respected course within the risk community.

Why GRI members should take the program

This program provides an opportunity for directors to hear from and interact with academics, practitioners and directors from other organizations. In this open learning environment, they share points of view on leading practices and lessons learned. We provide attendees with novel research relevant to real-world problems and outstanding risk education.

Participants in this program will benefit from the experience of world-class risk practitioners and educators:

  • We work collaboratively using presentations and group learning techniques to build directors’ capacity to identify, manage and benefit from the risks their organizations face both now and in the future.
  • Course attendees will enhance their understanding of their risk oversight roles as financial institution board members and will be better able to anticipate future trends that could affect their organization.
