Auditing and Assurance Standards Oversight Council mutually approved the formation of thea Canadian Sustainability Standards Board (CSSB) in recognition of the imperative role of sustainable finance. The Ccouncils’ decision to approve this early recommendation is a testament to the progress made to develop global sustainability disclosure standards and the need for the CSSB to ensure the Canadian perspective is brought to international decision-making. The Independent Review Committee on Standard Setting in Canada issued it’s final recommendations in March 2023.
