About this Report

In partnership with GRI, the Intact Centre on Climate Adaptation has developed this invaluable resource for institutional investors and other financial market participants to integrate climate risk into investment decision-making. Central to the report are six industry-specific climate risk matrices (CRMs), developed in consultation with senior executives from the target industries, identifying key climate risks/impacts, potential risk reduction/mitigation measures and key questions to help determine an organization’s mitigation readiness.

The report includes CRMs for the sectors below and encourages their use as a template to develop CRMs for all 77 SASB-recognized industries in Canada:

  • Electricity Transmission & Distribution;
  • Hydro Electricity Generation;
  • Wind Electricity Generation;
  • Real Estate – Commercial Towers;
  • Property And Casualty Insurance; and
  • Banks/Residential Mortgages
