MAY 15, 2014
On Tuesday 13 May, Michel Maila presented to an audience of Canadian and international representatives from the financial services sector at the Ontario Trade and Investment Centre.
Michel spoke about GRI’s growth since its inception in 2011, including our new members from the financial services industry in Quebec and Ontario, and our plans for GRI to become both pan-Canadian and international in scope. He also discussed the development of our research and education activities, including the Canadian and global “firsts” that GRI will achieve in 2014 – Canada’s first post-graduate Diploma in Risk Policy and Regulation (with Queens’ University), and at a global level, the world’s first Systemic Risk Hub and the world’s first Board Risk Oversight and Insight Program.
Michel also announced that GRI and the Rotman Business School at the University of Toronto would be bringing the conference of the Society for Financial Econometrics, SoFiE, to Canada for the first time next month. This conference is the world’s pre-eminent gathering in the field and has previously been held in the US, UK, Switzerland, Australia and Singapore, bringing together experts in financial econometrics.
