Member Seminar on Trade Credit: Supporting Growth and Balancing Risk
8 September 2015
SEPTEMBER 8, 2015
Many small and medium-sized enterprise clients of commercial banks are seeking to grow their businesses by trading internationally – particularly in the oil and gas sector. However, this means firms are engaging in markets with higher risk profiles outside of North America and Western Europe.
To explore these issues, Ms. Sara Joyce, former Executive Managing Director, International Financial Institutions and Trade Finance at the Bank of Montreal, will lead an interactive GRI member seminar on Thursday September 17 from 3 – 5pm which considers the challenges in providing credit and insurance to these firms as they seek to grow their businesses outside of Canada.
The seminar will consider how risk associated with these trade assets might be repackaged and/or shared with other financial institutions. This event is aimed for senior leaders at our member institutions engaged in international trade financing in both the public and private sectors, including banks, government agencies and insurers. This is an opportunity for senior leaders to take part in an insightful discussion about the issues surrounding trade credit.
Attendance is limited and the discussion will be followed by a networking reception. If you’re interested in attending, please contact Maria Montes at firstname.lastname@example.org.
